The Monk on the Mountain

the same place at the same time

A monk climbs a mountain path from 6 in the morning, reaching the top by evening, walking at changing speeds and resting along the way. The next day he walks down the same path, again starting at 6 in the morning. Is there a spot on the path he passes at exactly the same time of day on both days?
